My Students

Our students in a day treatment program are the highest needs students in the area. They are grades 3-5. While a couple are enjoying the social distancing, others are struggling to cope without social contact. We try our best to replicate our Zoom classroom with our daily classroom in school. We read books aloud, demonstrate science projects, solve math problems and go over current events with geography and history combined. We have an occasional yoga class and any and everything else we can possibly do to keep students engaged and learning! Staff has purchased some items but students are still in need of writing notebooks, markers, individual dry erase boards, and so on.

My Project

We are currently in summer school and will most likely continue with some students, if not all, via zoom this Fall. Our special needs students have the highest needs in the district and are in a day treatment program. They have issues with distractions, social contact or non social contact, and while a couple are okay with the distance learning others struggle in their homes with background noise while on Zoom classroom and for the Google Classroom work time. Headphones will help them tune out and tune in. It has been a struggle to get them notebooks to write on and find working on the computer is the best economical solution. Math is a little tougher for some, especially with fractions, but they all love PIZZA! They would enjoy learning with the pizza puzzle fraction set. Thank you for your consideration!
