Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I currently teach at a Title I school. It's a low-income area in town that nobody wants to go to. I absolutely love my school and my students! We are a hidden gem. I can't explain my love for teaching or my students without feeling mushy and giddy. They have had such rough life experiences and I just want to love on them and show them they are worth it! I grew up just like they did and I now have such a strong desire to show them the way!
My Project
As many know, students are forced to sit in their seats all day long. I feel so awful for my little 9 year old students who strongly desire movement consistently. When specials used to be 1 hour a day and often more than once a day movement wasn't such a necessity, but now with a 20 minute recess students are begging for more!
My students with ADHD have huge hearts and special needs, which include the need and desire to be allowed movement even in their seats!
These wobble stools are not a fix all, but they would be a true blessing to our classroom community!
