My Students

Roughly 49-50% of our students are economically disadvantaged. A vast number of our students come from different backgrounds and cultures. Some come with a decent knowledge of classroom practices, while others know very little. Our students are very inquisitive with a strong desire to feel safe and secure which is implemented in the classroom for all. Some students are on very low-levels and others are achieving at higher rates. Not only are they on different intellectual levels, but they are also from both rural and urban locations in our multicultural, growing city.

My Project

Hope and Wade King are known for their energy and creativity when it comes to their classroom environment and student engagement. They focus on teachers becoming a "wild card" in their classroom. We should be the unexpected twist that brings a different element to the lesson.

Get Your Teach On is all about increasing student achievement by engaging students, and I want to bring a wild, engaging classroom to my students.

Being able to attend the GYTO National Conference would be the single most life-changing professional development I've ever been to. I would be able to bring back so many amazing ideas and truly transform the way I teach. I want to be able to provide my students with the best education possible. This professional development would give me that opportunity.
