Most of my students are not from the neighborhood. Many of our students come from different areas because we are known as a "hub" school. This means that all students are not coming from the same background. We are a Title I school with students coming from a low socio-economic background.
My job as their teacher is to push my students to be the best version of themselves that they can be, no matter their background!
My students want to learn. They come to school ready to learn and to better themselves every day.
Because of the varying backgrounds, it is difficult to keep all students engaged at all times. I have to reach students from different backgrounds and different home lives at the same time.
I strive to create a classroom environment that is inviting to all. I strive to maintain an environment that encourages all students to come to school daily, to learn.
I would love the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry! Your donation will help to cover the cost of me attending the Get Your Teach On conference in Houston. This is a 2 day jam packed conference helping teachers to learn how to really engage their students in the material while also remaining rigorous.
Help me bring engagement and rigor to my classroom!
I have been so inspired by others who have attended this conference and the ways they have brought engagement back to their own school and lessons. I am really looking forward to my experience at the conference and all of the knowledge that I will learn that will help me become a better teacher!
