Mrs. Alkire from Oklahoma City OK is requesting professional development through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
I need the funds for me to be able to receive professional development at the Houston, TX "Get Your Teach On!" conference.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are fun, energetic, and love hands-on experiences while learning. This is what I strive to provide for them within my classroom. Our classroom is interactive and relaxed, all while still providing my students with the structure that they need to learn. We love to dance, move, and be hands-on with learning!
It is my hope that with your help through DonorsChoose.org, I will be able to provide my students with the best possible experience in third grade!
I would love to have the opportunity to attend the Get Your Teach On conference and bring back valuable information and techniques to share with my students and co-workers! Get Your Teach On is a truly one of a kind teacher conference and training. It focuses on a creative approach to engaging kids in their learning.
Get Your Teach On knows that in order to spark enthusiasm in students, the enthusiasm must first be sparked within the teacher.
This conference focuses on igniting the passion of the teacher and sharing some out of the box approaches to teaching.
Professional development is such an important component of education, but often hard to come by with budget cuts. I know that if I am given the opportunity to attend this conference I will be able to bring a one of a kind and creative approach to teaching back to apply at my school!
At this conference, I will be attending breakout sessions specific to math and science. I will be learning how to implement innovative techniques of teaching both math and science and an interactive and engaging way through these breakout sessions.
