I need to Get My Teach On! I am looking for airfare and lodging for the Get Your Teach on Conference in New England to learn new and innovating ways to engage my students!
This project expired on May 12, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My classroom is filled with 22 amazing and unique students. Fourteen boys and eight girls come to my classroom to learn daily. These students come from all different walks of life. Some are gifted, some have learning disabilities, some come from broken homes, some have suffered trauma, yet there is one thing each and every one of them have in common. They come to school with a smile on their face and fill my classroom with their eager desire to learn and tackle new challenges.
Our classroom environment is authentic and engaging.
We transform into doctors and chefs, and our classroom transforms into a hospital, pizza parlor and even a wildlife habitat. This makes the students in my classroom excited to come to school and engaged in their learning all day long as they perform contraction and text feature surgery, persuade others that their pizza parlor is top notch, or bringing our animal research projects to life in our ocean habitat. The excitement on their faces during these times are completely priceless! I love spending my days in such an upbeat environment while watching these 22 small minds grow, learn and wonder each day.
A good teacher is much more than curriculum and worksheets. School should not feel like a chore to students. School should be exciting, adventurous, and instill a love for learning that will carry on with a child for the rest of their life.
Engagement is key in establishing fundamental values in children seeking to be their most successful selves.
The Get Your Teach On Conference is known for its renowned presenters that focus on engagement strategies that are sure to make learning fun and meaningful. This conference will give me new ideas to implement to our learning each and every day that will spark student's interest no matter the subject or topic.
By having the opportunity to attend GYTO, I am part of a movement to not only raise the bar for students learning, but to also set the bar for other educators as I hope that the skills I learn at this conference will be effective across my school and district.
