My Students

Every year a new set of bright smiles enter my classroom, we become family not just for this year, but they become a part of my life. I love hearing about past students, their joys and accomplishments. I currently teach in a charter school, which is a school of choice. Many of my students come in below grade level in both reading and math. I love teaching and spreading that joy to my students. I love teaching them to love reading and that they don't have to be scared of math! What I love most is helping my students discover how they learn best and getting them to advocate for themselves.

My Project

The Get Your Teach On Conference will provide me with the opportunity to learn from some of the best educators in elementary education. There are break out sessions for math and literacy strategies that are research-based. The sessions are hands-on, in-depth, and can directly help me make my classroom more engaging.

This is an opportunity to collaborate with teachers to share ideas, strategies, and best practices to better reach the students in my classroom and in my school.

I am excited to learn new math strategies and infuse new literacy strategies into my small groups.

My goal as an educator is for my students to leave my classroom with the desire to be lifelong learners, and by going to this conference I can demonstrate that I value learning. This is a great opportunity for me to ignite my passion for teaching, demonstrate that I am about lifelong learning, and become equipped to help each student reach their potential in my classroom.
