Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in the small rural town of Toppenish, WA on the Yakama Nation Native American Reservation. More than 95% of our students are considered low income and receive free and reduced lunch.
We have a multi-cultural diverse school where most of the students are English Language Learners and have families who work in the agriculture industry.
My hope and dream is to provide a safe, inviting, and comfortable learning space, allowing all students to learn to their best ability.
My Project
Help me get my TEACH on at the National Conference held in San Diego, CA on June 24-June 26, 2018! This conference is a gathering of many top teachers in the nation sharing their experiences and motivating teachers to promote engaging learning opportunities for all students.
Learning new skills, tips and tricks from top teachers from around the country will provide me with professional development that will profoundly impact my teaching!
I have followed many of the presenters on social media and learned from their blogs, and I know this opportunity will be once in a lifetime for my teaching career.
According to the GYTO website, "Get Your Teach On is sure to be unlike any other educators’ conference that you will attend, you will leave feeling empowered, motivated, and prepared to create dynamic lessons that will challenge your students and leave them hungry for more."
Please help me be the best teacher I can be for my students by growing.
