Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class is made up of 23 amazing 2nd graders that make each day in the classroom memorable. This is my first year and I've truly been blessed with this group.My students are very passionate and hard working with everything they do. They challenge me each day to become a better teacher. I have students at all levels of math and reading, but mostly gifted students.

They work so hard everyday to prove that they are more than their circumstances.

Every encounter with them just reminds me of my reason why I became an educator.

My Project

My first year was a bit rocky, and I'm still trying to get the hang of things. This conference will allow me to grow professionally in many ways. First, student engagement is something I've struggled with this year. Educators there, will inform me of many different ways to get my students more engaged in the lesson. I'd also receive many research based strategies to incorporate in every subject area I teach.

This conference will not only allow me to grow as an educator but it'll improve my teaching style and increase rigor in my lessons.

This will allow my students to go further with their learning.

I'm eager to learn from educators that share the same passion as I do.
