Third grade 21st-century learners need to not only be masters of academic content but also masters at problem solving and collaboration and fluent users of technology.
“We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.” – David Warlick
My 3rd graders are absolutely wonderful! My classroom is comprised of 28 ready and willing 3rd graders. All students have their own unique and individual needs, which prompts differentiation of instruction. Every year, the range of ability within my classroom seems to widen. There are students working far below grade level as well as students who have been identified as special needs. In addition, my classroom has many English language learners. All of my students are very eager to learn!
My Project
I'm asking for a presentation tool. This tool allows me or the students to highlight items on the screen. My students are young and have different attention spans. They are having a difficult time following along with our new LED screens. If I had this presentation tool students would know where to focus on the screen. This tool will highlight the items I choose and dim the other parts of the screen. I can be in the back of the room and ask students to look at my screen and there will be no question about what I am asking them to focus on. It also forwards slides when I am presenting a lesson to students.
