Picture a classroom of 25 third graders actively involved in partnerships around the room. "I can't concentrate, it's too loud!" I hear a child say. Another child is so interested in what is going on across the room that he cannot attend to the partner right next to him or the work in front of him. A third child is nervously watching the clock, knowing that we are having a fire drill at 10:00. Anticipating the loud noise is too much for her to handle and her anxiety begins to rise.

For many children, teamwork and collaboration is the means to learning. For others, it leads to a challenge, a roadblock. The added noise and action involved with teamwork completely distracts them. Children who have a difficult time focusing when distractions are around them need additional methods of support. The child described above with anxiety related to loud noises can also have her anxiety eliminated with the right tool.

With the help of noise-canceling headphones, these children will be able to function on par with the other children. The challenges they face daily can be minimized or eliminated, along with the frustrations that come along with their challenges.

With your assistance, all of my children will be able to go down the path of learning without roadblocks. You will help remove frustrations and anxieties so that these children can flourish and grow academically and emotionally.
