Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Special Education teacher at Title I charter school. Many of my students are English Language learners who are eager to learn and communicate using English. My students receive their direct instruction via the Internet with their general education teachers. During the day, my students receive additional support as stated in their IEP (Individualized Education Program) through instruction with me. It is my goal to help my students become fluent readers and writers through multiple interactive activities during the school day. My students love to interact with their peers through interactive read aloud, academic games, creative writing projects and, of course, technology.
Although my students receive their instruction via the computer, my students come to our building to receive related services, counseling services and support towards their IEP goals.
Our students come from low to no income families, and they receive free breakfast and lunch during the school day. Our students thrive on things many people take for granted such as games, morning circle time, monthly incentives, Dr. Seuss planned activities, holiday parties and free gym time.
My Project
As a Special Educator, I'm constantly looking for additional resources to help my students become lifelong learners. Many students often need additional materials to help meet their individual needs. As a special education teacher , our lessons drive on individualized academic goals which often need additional resources. The amazing resource for many teachers is teachers pay teachers or TPT to help meet the individual needs of many students in our classrooms.
TPT is a magical resource that will help instill my students engagement and drive towards success.
