Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I will never forget my first year teaching at our elementary school when my first class walked into the classroom. The students were bold fifth graders that were not afraid to speak their minds. At first it was intimidating, but I grew to love their energy and passion to learn. All my students push me to come up with interesting and engaging lessons that are worth taking the time to complete. They love coming to art class and creating things that they never thought they could.
My Project
One of my favorite parts about being an art teacher is displaying my students artwork! Having the foam tape will help me hang up more artwork this year when the bulletin boards fill up! I used tape last year to hang paintings on the wall but they don’t always stay up.
My goal is to decorate our school by hanging artwork from every student.
I have a different schedule this year and I see more classes every week. I have enough paper and glue to get me started this year but I’m asking for more so I won’t be stressing later in the year about running out!
The canvas boards we used last year was the most memorable lesson for me and my students. I was very proud how focused they were and how seriously they took that assignment. I’m hoping to get more this year and give more students that same experience!
