Help me give my students the ability to concentrate. So many of the students nowadays find it difficult to concentrate when they are seated at their desk all day. Movement helps them.

My Students

What is special about my students is the fact that they are excited to learn a new language and culture and use that language in our immersion classrooms all day.

We speak with the students in both English and modern Hebrew all day, in most subjects (other than ELL and Hebrew lessons).

The students enjoy playing, eating, learning math and science in both languages.

We are not a Jewish school. About half the students in my classes are not Jewish but they enjoy learning a language and getting familiar with a new culture and becoming a better citizens of the world.

My Project

From my experience in the last few years, many students find it difficult to concentrate when they have to be stationary, seated at their desk.

I do let students move around when needed but sometimes it is disruptive to others and for some the need to move around takes over their ability to learn.

This school year I tested an idea I had, I purchased and set up one of these bicycles in my classroom for a student who was constantly dancing. It did wonders! The student spent much more time at his desk, peddaling, and listening, writing and doing what he was supposed to do at his desk at the same itme.

I want to give this opportunity to oeher students who need the same help.
