This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach students from grades Kindergarten through Sixth grade. I am a resource specialist and I work with many students who have a specific learning disability. Some of my students have other health impairments such as ADHD as well as autism.

Their disabilities do not define them.

They are full of talent and desire to learn. When working with them individually or in a small group, they put forth an effort and are learning to not be afraid to make mistakes.

They are full of humor and energy. They teach me new things every day. They remind me every day why I do what I do. They're energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate individuals.

My Project

Many of my students have learning and/or developmental disabilities. They need a different way of learning certain math concepts.

Many of my little's have a visual strength and I want to use their strength and TouchMath to better support their learning.

I want to instill mathematical confidence in them.

I want them to see numbers and tackle it with a smile. TouchMath will give many of my littles new avenues of learning. Allowing them to create a better relationship with math and see themselves in a new way. See themselves as mathematical thinkers and doers. All starting with counting...opening positive mathematical thinking.
