Help me give my students the tools, literally, to build the future of LPA Drama. These tool will be used by my new technical theatre class. These students will learn the fine art of stage craft and safety.
I have been teaching 24 years. I have taught all grades, all levels, and all socio-economic groups. Currently, I am teaching a very unique group. Although the lay of the land suggests an area inhabited by the "haves" it's not always the case. However, the hearts of my students are bigger than any I have ever seen! These kids are amazing! They possess a very special love for each other, their teachers, and the newcomers to our school! I am so proud to be their teacher!

My Project
For the first time, LPA will offer a Technical Theatre/Stagecraft class! Students will learn how to use tools safely, the skills needed to design and build scenery, how to fix damaged scenery, and basic carpentry. The students will also learn painting techniques, stage lighting, sound design, costuming, and stage make up!
These students will be able to support the LPA Drama department productions by designing, building, and painting props and scenery.
This class will teach teamwork, responsibility, organization, creative thinking, problem-solving, and skills the students will use their entire lives. The gift of these tools will help this to come true.
