I work in a Head Start classroom made up of 20 kiddos. All 20 of my students are 4 years old. My class is balanced with 10 girls and 10 boys. The Head Start program is amazing and provides my students with multiple opportunities.
My students are smart, talented, energetic, and fun!
They love to dance and to explore the classroom! The classroom is setup to allow all the different personalities and interest. We LOVE learning through hands on and real life activities.
My Project
Math Alive with help my students learn in many ways. First, math alive is going to help them with their math skills in a fun interactive way. This program covers the following math concepts; numbers and number sense, computation, data and probability, patterns, geometry, measurement, and even money. Math alive also will help with identifying colors, problem solving skills, socials skills, their imagination, and expand their vocabulary with math terms, as well as names of animals. Math alive is 3D and comes alive in my classroom. Math alive will be used during circle time to focus on the number of the week. The students will also use it during small groups and centers to allow them to explore, practice, and experience all math concepts. One example would be learning less and more. They will have to count and determine, which side has more alligators and then put the correct sign. This program will prepare my students for Kindergarten, as well as give them a preview of what they will be learning in Kindergarten!
