My Project

One of the hardest parts of being a teacher in this day and age is engaging our students without depending on a screen. We need to get creative in order to make sure all of our students are getting what they need.

I want to bring in a light table to my class so that they have a fun and exciting way to build up finger dexterity through sensory activities, engage in letter and sound recognition activities, and start to build words and eventually sentences.

They will be so excited to have such a unique and colorful activity in our classroom and will be so excited to use the space daily.

At this point in the year, my students and I are working on blending and segmenting words. Having resources in our classroom like magnatiles, are great manipulatives to help children recognize and see the individual sounds of words, helping them associate the sound with a letter.

Having games available like the phonics games, are wonderful for students to play while reinforcing these important skills. The letter stamps and pads are another way for my students to associate letter shapes and sounds and build words.
