Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work with all of the 5th-grade students in a Title I, high needs, primarily Spanish-speaking population. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. On Fridays, numerous students take home food bags to sustain them over the weekend. Even though our students face these challenges, they are positive and come to school ready to learn. They give it their all and are willing to do their best on a daily basis. They make me proud to come to school every day.
My Project
I am requesting the tuition for my third course in my National Board Certification program. I will be working continuously over the next year, reflecting on my educational practices, implementing new teaching strategies, and studying new national standards.
I am a self-proclaimed life long learner, and I am determined to take the National Board Certification process seriously.
I believe that all students deserve a highly effective and dedicated teacher, no matter what their circumstances. The National Board Certification process will enable me to be the educator my students deserve. Board Certification will bring value, not only to my students, but also to my school as well. Schools with National Board Certified teachers have strong professional communities focused on leadership, learning, and collaboration.
