Help me give my students with disabilities a place to build not only healthy minds but with the of the Concept2 Model D Indoor Rower improved healthy life habits needed for the health struggles disabled students will face.
My students come to school energized and motivated even when dealing with their day-to-day struggles at home and in their communities. As kids, they should not have to deal with the issues they face daily and at their tender ages. They come from struggling backgrounds and also have a variety of disabilities. They struggle with their emotions, social skills, and daily lives. Like all kids, they need love and support. They need encouragement and to be motivated. Given all the issues in their lives, my students are great, loving, and caring students. They look out for each other, and they work hard in the classroom.
As a Title I school with more than 75% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, they already feel as if they are at a disadvantage, especially coupled with their learning disabilities.
They work hard to accept new challenges daily and at completing each task. They are eager to learn, but they need as many learning tools as possible. Given the educational resources, my students will continue to make significant improvements in learning and daily life skills.
My Project
The students in my classroom are energetic, they are diverse, and they are impressionable. As students with defined developmental disabilities, they don't typically have the opportunity to involve themselves in sports and athletics, but in our class they will have the chance to be healthy and actively participate in a fitness program that will engage their minds and bodies.
Having rowing machines in a physical education classroom would be beneficial to all students.
Rowing is a stellar upper-body workout that can improve your posture and alleviate lower back pain. It would ensure that my students received an effective aerobic exercise that is also low impact. Using a rowing machine would increase their endurance for future cardiovascular workouts. This would be a wonderful way for students to get in cardio who don't like or are not able to do the most common method of cardio which is running. By having a rowing machine it can help contribute to the overall health and longevity of my students lives.
