Being 26 and in my 3rd year of teaching, it is only fitting that I get to newly work at my dream school with my dream kids! Getting to teach at the same school I attended during elementary school and work alongside my own teachers is surreal. This next year my school has open enrollment and the demographics of the school will be expanding. The town I teach in is very small with the grade level sizes only being around 60-80 kids per grade level. They grow up knowing each other from the early years of Kinder all the way through High School. They have had 2 years taken from them and going into 3rd grade and into a new school is scary enough. I want to make an inclusive classroom that is a good balance of learning and fun!
My Project
Each of these items in my cart will help make the classroom more inclusive and flexible for each of my students. They have been out of the class for almost 2 school years and it is time for them to want to learn and not just be forced to learn.
The seats will help kids that need extra stimulation focus during independent work and small group work.
The LEGO bricks will help activate their creativity and let them make their ideas come to life. The materials such as the pencil sharpener, pencil dispenser, and whiteboard dots will help the kids be more independent so they can get the items they need on their own. The student mailboxes will help me organize their work so their families are able to see their growth with their graded work. The Evan Moor books have become some of my favorite extra workbooks to help the kids practice and show what they know. I used them in 4th grade and would love to incorporate them into my 3rd graders' daily routines. The dry erase pockets will help cut down on paper waste. I am going to be teaching the kids how to reduce their waste and one of the biggest wastes in paper within classes. Keeping the kids organized and in a routine helps them learn better and carpet dots help keep them in rows.
Again, thank you so much for considering helping out a new teacher give her students what they need and deserve!
