My Students

My students begin their day by doing their morning word study and morning routine. They quickly finish their work, so they can begin reading in the library! My students love to get lost in books.

My students are 9 and 10 years old in the fourth grade.

We are in a low socioeconomic area. I have 26 students. 16 of them are boys. This makes sharing my love of reading a bit more challenging. Most boys do not care for reading, and they are harder to reach out too.

My Project

My students will be using the tablets to be more interactive with books. They can also use them to download apps for studying or reviewing skills they may need improvement in. They will love reading fluency and comprehension with audio books as well as regular print books.

This is an area in which we lack in. I feel my students will be more engaged in a good book if they have it electronically in their hands.
