My students are bubbly, love STEAM projects, like to read and seem willing to try anything once! We are a Title 1 school, and serve low income families. Half my class is made of refugee and immigrant kids from Somalia, Burma, India etc. We have a great range of learners, including some who are first generation English learners. They love hands-on activities, technology, art, music and books!
Curious, kinesthetic, and creative; my students thrive on challenge, and novel learning opportunities.
These bright, sparkly eyed kids are looking to us to give them a holistic, challenging and inclusive education.
Our classroom has already begun the rigorous academic work of third grade! We have also discovered that our rug does not fit all of us. We need a rug that includes all 25 students, and creates an inviting space to sit together, read, write and learn. Our rug will help us sit together for our daily morning meeting, and create a positive classroom environment.
During the day, it will serve as a place where we sit together to read aloud; do our reading and writing mini-lessons; use the interactive whiteboard for Math and converge for small groups.
This rug will help build our classroom community & serve as an oasis for learning, collaboration and academic growth.
