This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

A classroom is supposed to be a place where students feel safe and comfortable in order to maximize learning. Many of my students come from low-income families and view school as an escape.

We are a diverse group of 18 students.

I have a wide variety of learners that require differentiated instruction. Although all students learn in different ways, they have one thing in common. They like structure, consistency, and organization. They enjoy hands-on activities and working in cooperative groups.

My Project

A carpet will not only provide students with a place to sit. This carpet will be a place where students can engage in cooperative groups, partake in hands-on activities, and delve into in-depth discussions with their classmates. It will also help to brighten our classroom and provide a warm and inviting atmosphere.

My students are amazing young learners.

They come to school everyday with a smile on their faces. They are ready to learn no matter what challenges they face. This carpet will help them to see that kindness and hard work pays off.
