Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school emphasizes the respect of self and others. This encompasses discipline and high expectations as well as activism and compassion. The kids know they will be Agents of Change and follow our school motto, "Be the change you want to see in the world." - Mahatma Ghandi
We are classified as a "highest poverty" school and the kids at our school are brilliant.
They deserve excellent educational resources. Although my kids may lack financial resources, they have an incredible work ethic and desire to learn. We are a full Title I school, a vast majority of our students qualify for free or reduced lunches.
Our students may lack the material privileges that other American children are fortunate to have, but they certainly make up for it with talent, fortitude, and sheer intelligence. We live in a world where our youth are simply not provided with enough quality resources to shine; your donation will make the dream of a bright future come true.
My Project
I have a wonderful class of second grade students who love learning! BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. video clips will enhance their knowledge of almost any subject in a fun and engaging way! My students enjoy school and are very enthusiastic about learning, however, many of my students do not have Internet access at home. Doing research of any kind is difficult for them. In addition to textbooks and library books, my students need technological resources to aid in their understanding of various topics, from Native Americans, to fractions, and animal adaptations. My students will be able to watch short videos on any subject and take quizzes, too! BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr are online sites that contain many educational resources, including short, age appropriate videos with related activities. My students are motivated by the fun approach to learning that BrainPOP can provide. Especially for my English learners, BrainPOP is a valuable visual resource in terms of new vocabulary, and accessibility to our curriculum.
With your help and generosity, my class will have access to a huge library of video topics that will enhance their learning.
BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. are a wonderful tool to engage students in learning and grasping a variety of complicated subjects. Your contribution would update the way my students learn and provide them with the opportunity to compete with wealthier schools.
