Our students attend a Title I kindergarten through eighth grade, bilingual school in downtown Santa Ana, California, a low-income and high-risk community. The mission of our school is to nurture all learners to become creative, critical thinkers by providing high-quality standards-based instruction through the arts, technology, language, and culture in Spanish and English.
About 70% of our students live below the poverty line and 20% are homeless.
We believe all students can be successful and learn best through self-inquiry, hands-on experiences, and fostering their love for learning. We strive to meet the holistic needs of the children.
I need a laptop to collect data, enhance my teaching skills, and to plan and execute virtual lessons for my students. This donation would support student learning as well as my own professional development.
This laptop would allow me to participate in educational webinars to further my professional development, create resources for students and families, as well as continue to provide an engaging and enriching education for all students on or off campus.
At the return to campus, students will use the MacBook to conduct research, create presentations, access educational applications, and collaborate with their peers on class projects. The MacBook would also be used as a tool to communicate with families and staff.
