Kindergarten is a time for building friendships, teaching empathy and empowering children! That is exactly what I strive to do with my 15 kinder students. I teach in an inclusion kindergarten classroom, where all of my students walk through the door with amazing strengths, boundless energy, and individual needs.
It is my goal, as their teacher and mentor, to create a classroom family where all students feel not only accepted but valued and embraced.
My classroom consists of amazing children who are excited to learn and grow together as a classroom family!
My Project
Kindergarten children work hard to make sense of the world around them. A big part of kindergarten is not only learning to be kind to one another but to display kindness to oneself. The materials in this project will provide students with a safe space in the classroom where they can process their emotions. It will afford students with the opportunity to self-regulate and work through their emotions in a healthy, productive way.
Self-regulation is a cornerstone skill for all development.
It allows children to make sense of their thoughts, feelings, and actions. I am excited for my students to utilize the materials in their safe space and know that these materials will aid them in the self-regulation process! They will be ready to learn, interact with their peers and will have emotional safety and security.
