Our K-4 school is located in a rural area, and 75% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. Like the majority of our school population, my kindergartners come from low income families. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite these challenges, I strive to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My kindergartners are thinkers, creators, questioners, and explorers!
They are sweet, kind, and energetic! They like to move, sing songs, and thrive on positive attention! I am asking for stand up desks to help support all of this energy! These desks will help my students move while they are working and learning. Each student in my class will benefit from this unique work space.
My Project
Kindergarteners are full of energy and excitement. Students enjoy learning by moving, and it is something that comes naturally to them. In my classroom, I try to give students an option of where they want to learn. We currently have several wobble seats, but I want to provide my students with other options.
My students are in need of two standing desks to give them multiple options to learn.
Having an alternative place to complete their work is a great way for the students who need to move around while they are working.
Over my 20 years of experience in education, one thing I have learned is students love having options about how they learn, and by having two standing desks, I can give them a choice of where they would like to learn. Thank you for considering to fund my project.
