Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"I can read!" My students are beginning to learn how to read. I am so proud of them. I would love for them to be able to enjoy a leveled classroom library.
My K-5 school serves low income families.
My kindergarten students are becoming readers! They are eager to learn how to read. Sadly, we do not have enough leveled books in my classroom library for each of my students to enjoy reading in the classroom or to enjoy at home. I want to encourage my students' love for reading and foster life long readers.
My Project
I want to provide my students with the best academic start possible. These leveled books would have a huge impact on helping my children to become stronger readers. In order to improve their reading, they need access to their own level books. These leveled books and book baggies will encourage reading to occur both at school during independent and guided reading, as well as at home.
The privacy partitions will be utilized in the classroom to help my students focus and avoid distractions during independent reading and while completing classwork. They will also be used for testing.
These items will have a huge impact on my students and their academic success.
It will help my students to enjoy reading and to become better readers. Encouraging and instilling a love for reading will have an impact on my students' academic success throughout their academic lives.
