Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I'm a teaching fellow in Harlem. There are many things that a classroom needs, but nothing matters more than having books to read. We push our kids to read independently but there aren't enough books in our library for them to read. This is every teacher's story in NYC. I'm asking you to please help us with a classroom library from Scholastic. I'm asking for an assorted books library. My students love to read. They deserve to have many books available to them. Sometimes I have to copy books for my students to read. This is time consuming and quite expensive. Many students at my school do not have the opportunity to use the public library due to circumstances beyond their control, and the books I have to let them borrow as well as the three they are allowed to check out every two weeks from the school's library are their only resources. Please help me provide my students with the proper education they deserve.
