Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 3rd graders come to school every day, currently online, excited and ready to learn! They are curious, imaginative, and hardworking. The majority of my students come from low-income families.

As bilingual students who are working through the difficult process of transitioning from their first to second language, they face extra challenges in the classroom, especially now that they are returning to the classroom after learning remotely for over a year.

They require additional support as they learn both grade-level content and work on acquiring a second language. My students love hands-on activities and anything using technology to help them learn.

My Project

These supplies will help keep my students safe and healthy while learning in-person in our school. With the Omicron variant still on the rise, it is absolutely essential that my students have appropriate masks and cleaning materials to help them stay safe!

My students are great about wearing their masks, but currently many have thin fabric masks, or masks that are simply too large for them.

This highly contagious variant requires better masks, and we can give that to them!

Additionally, I want to ensure that we have enough cleaning supplies for our room, and that each student has an individual hand sanitizer to minimize germs while they are focused on their learning. My students' neighborhood has been hit hard by the pandemic and my goal is to keep them as safe as possible when they are at school!
