Help Juniata Park Academy Students Play Basketball!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students from our school are well-behaved and love coming to school. They are kind to each other and like to help the community as well, as they have participated in canned food drives to help those in their community. The students from our urban school come from the Hunting Park/Juniata Park section of Philadelphia. Unfortunately our school and school district suffer form a lack of funding and we don't have enough money to give our students a basketball hoop so that they can practice basketball outside on the blacktop. The students at our school and the students on the basketball teams at our school would love the opportunity to practice their skills outside on the blacktop.
My Project
I teach at an urban elementary school. It is a wonderful school in the Hunting Park/Juniata Park section of Philadelphia. The students from our school are well-behaved and love school but they come from economically-disadvantaged backgrounds. Our school also suffers from a lack of funding. I teach ESL (English as a Second Language) and a lot of my students tell me that they love playing sports such as basketball. Unfortunately our blacktop doesn't have a basketball hoop on it and I want to change that! Our school also has basketball teams and several other sports teams. Although there is a basketball hoop in the gym there is no hoop outside and the kids unfortunately can't practice basketball outside in the beautiful weather.
I would like to request a high-quality long-lasting basketball hoop for our blacktop (with installation) so our students can play basketball outside.
I want to have a place where our school basketball teams can practice basketball outside when the weather is nice.
In my grant money request I am requesting the price of the basketball hoop, backboard, pole, and installation. I also am requesting the money for basketballs for the students to play with. Thank you so much for your considerations!
