My Students
My students are highly motivated third and fourth graders. They come from many different communities through out the Jefferson Parish area. The majority of them are African Americans of low socioeconomic status. They love Lincoln!
Many of them are the descendants of the alumni of the original LH School which was the first high school for African Americans in Jefferson Parish. In spite of the social challenges these students face, they remain hopeful.
They take great pride in the school as they enthusiastically sing the school's alma mater song each day.
My Project
A classroom printer would make it easier to give individualized instruction. It is a needed convenience in a classroom in a school that has limits on printer usage. In language arts, social studies and science classes the students need a printer to publish their work.
What a blessing it would be to have such a basic tool in our class.
Everything from individual handwriting worksheets to homework at the their finger tips. Every class should have a printer. Birthday cards, holiday cards, self selected student activities and of course tracking student data from online student assessments could be produced immediately.
