My students need prize incentives like squeeze balls, button pins, and wristbands, for our classroom treasure box to inspire leadership and making their reading goals.
My ELA students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. They are hard-working students who are held to high expectations. They want to succeed and try their best every day. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community. All are emerging readers, and many are ESL learners.
Many of my students face numerous challenges in their lives including hunger, safety, and unstable living situations.
Despite the hardships they are facing at home, they show up at school excited and ready to learn! The desire to learn and love to have fun while they do in a safe and exciting place-that is my classroom.
My Project
I want to encourage good behavior and leadership skills! I want my students to strive to make their reading goals! The key to motivation is incentives. But I need your help, as our classroom treasure box is running low. With your help, my treasure chest will have some amazing things-- like zany stress balls, bracelets, and smiley face buttons!
It's important for kids to have something tangible to reward them!
It is a little thing, but it goes a long way to making the learning environment fun and encouraging! It makes achieving goals easier! It makes the hard work and effort that they put into their academic success amazingly worth it!
My students are leaders, achievers, and readers. My treasure chest has been an important part of that journey. I'm really hoping to continue in the new school year. Thank you for believing in us!
