Our classroom family is made up of 16 incredible PreKinders who come in everyday ready to have fun and learn. With a focus on developmentally appropriate practice and hands on learning these 4 and 5 years olds are learning through exploration and play. I use every opportunity to encourage and support their academic and social emotional growth so that they will have a strong foundation and future learning success.
This year is a little different, learning from home part of the time.
It is different, but there is still opportunities for it to be meaningful and fun!
My Project
This year my incredible PreKinders will be learning at home part time, with a chance of online learning being every day at any moment. I want to create home learning boxes so that our time together online and the activities I give them are still hands on and fun.
These items will help them learn both literacy and math skills through play.
Combined with games and activity pages I create for them, the items will make learning at home fun and familiar.
Instead of expecting my class to do all their learning online, it is important to provide them materials so that they can still experience the love of learning through play at home. This is very important to me, especially since this is the first school experience for some of them!
