Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher of 6th-8th grade students. All of my students are diverse learners. They have special needs ranging from mild learning disabilities to social/emotional difficulties. I teach math, science, and writing. My kids are from a working class, low-income area. We are a very family-oriented school and have great family involvement.
My kids benefit greatly from the enrichment that extra materials provide in the classroom.
We can grow in our learning if we just have the materials that we need.
My Project
At my school we have a strict dress code which limits the types of sweaters students may where in the classroom. Like most older building schools our school has a fluctuating temperatures at times. There for I am asking for several non-hoody jackets that students may use if they are cold in their classroom.
Being cozy in your classroom makes it easier to focus on the assignment in front of you.
These jackets will make comfortable students who are ready to learn. Who knew a jacket could benefit science, math reading or writing? I think my students know this and will really appreciate these jackets.
