I need to attend the Get Your Teach on Conference in Los Angeles in January to get new ideas for igniting my students' passion for learning and my passion for teaching.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic, curious, technology-loving kids from a low socioeconomic area. They come to school ready to learn and work hard. Many students live in apartments with no yards and tiny play areas. My students come from a variety of home situations, many living in multi-family households, or broken homes. Despite any home challenges they come to school excited and eager to learn.
Students need materials and experiences that engage them and make them excited to learn!
When my students are able to get their hands on materials and actually create or problem solve, I see a light that fills my heart. That light is their pure love for the experience of learning.
My Project
The Get Your Teach On Conference is designed to share tips, tricks, and ideas to create an engaging classroom. Engaged students are those that are learning so this is vital to their success. After 10 years in the classroom, I need some new, fresh ideas to bring back to my students.
My students deserve a teacher that is full of ways to make learning engaging and meaningful!
The conference description states "You will leave feeling empowered, motivated, and prepared to create dynamic lessons that will challenge your students and leave them hungry for more." I couldn't ask for more from professional development.
