This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students from Jacksonville come to school with various backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title I school with 100% free lunch and breakfast due to the high percentage of low socioeconomic families in the surrounding neighborhoods. Many of our students are over age and performing several grade levels below 5th grade. I am a Fifth Grade inclusion English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. I teach students with various learning disabilities and English Language Learners.

Despite the difficulties and disadvantages my students face everyday, they are hardworking, persistent, determined, and optimistic about their education.

My Project

Thank you for looking at our project. Our Title I school is working to improve our school grade by integrating technology into our daily learning. My students from Jacksonville come to school with various backgrounds and educational needs. In order to improve their proficiency my students have access to online programs that meets their individual needs. At my school we currently do not have personal earbuds for each individual student.

The students will benefit from having the earbuds because it allows access to quality instruction on their individualized level when they are not in the teacher led small group.
