This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the pleasure to teach 40 curious third graders. I teach math and science. I love encouraging students to be curious about the world around them and recognize math in their real lives.
Eighty precent of my students fall well below the poverty line.
Many come to school without supplies or very few My students lack the support needed from their homes, so it is up to me to give them what they need. I often spend my own money to purchase supplies needed in the classroom.
Your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting our future employees.
My Project
Solving math problems requires lots of practice. Students are in constant need of a sharpened pencil.
We desperately need a new pencil sharpener and extra pencils to get us through the school year.
Students will save time using an electric sharpener intern giving them more learning time. Students often forget to bring a pencil to class, so the purchased pencils will be for their use.
We also use dry erase boards daily in my classroom. An ongoing problem is that we run out of dry erase markers quickly.
You donation will help purchase supplies needed for students to continue practicing math problems with out issues.
