My Students

I teach for an inner city public school. The majority of my students do not have access to a computer for research purposes.

Approximately 86% of my students receive a free or reduced lunch and rarely have opportunities to travel outside of the city limits.

My students love to learn and get very excited to have new learning opportunities. We would like to save valuable learning time by being able to do our research from our classroom.

My Project

My students would benefit greatly from having a classroom computer to do their research for class projects. Traveling to the library, signing on, and traveling back again, takes away valuable learning time in our 55 minutes of class. A classroom computer helps us to utilize more of our learning time. My students will be doing research on endangered species, fossil fuels, plate tectonics and much more.

In today's society many of us take for granted our computers, the majority of my students do not own computers and need to have more opportunities available to them.
