Our high school\'s program is an internationally themed curriculum, and the school is divided into several houses. Next year my house has decided to offer several electives in an attempt to make senior English more interesting for students. We have conducted an interest survey, and many students have selected a course called \"Japanese Literature: A Culture in Transition.\" I will be teaching this course, though as of yet we have no books for such a course. Yukio Mishima\'s novel \"Spring Snow\" is the first part of a tetralogy which traces precisely the theme of cultural change. It is also benchmark novel of this celebrated writer. I would love to have copies of this book for use in our new course. However, since my school is still in the process of switching from a large-school to small-school setting, we are not always able to get funding for new materials. I am therefore looking for funding to allow us to purchase class sets of this text for this course. Our school\'s special program leads to a New York State Advanced Regents Diploma or an International Baccalaureate Diploma, a rigorous academic program taught in 150 countries worldwide. One of the main objectives of the program is to offer students insight into foreign cultures. By providing the funding to help our course get under way, you will be ensuring that our students learn to understand the world around them at a much deeper level. Thank you.
