Welcome to Mrs. Ellis' class of enthusiastic, motivated, and great kids all around! I am Mrs. Ellis and I teach 7th graders in the heart of Northeast Texas. Going to school in a high-needs area, my students come from diverse backgrounds from newcomers and English Language Learners to pre-AP and gifted students. They are very enthusiastic, motivated, and great kids all around.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has hit everyone hard, it has hit my students particularly hard.
Many of the students' families are trying to make ends meets and are essential workers, if they have been able to even keep their employment.
As schools have reorganized to accommodate students with Distance Learning, this reorganization has also delayed our ability to order materials for the upcoming school year. I would like to provide the supplies needed for my students' next year's school year so their parents will have one less thing to worry about.
My Project
Due to the financial impact of COVID-19 on many families in my school district, I want to make sure that all of my students have the materials that they need. I believe that providing students with the materials needed is so important regardless of their family's financial situation. Your donation will go towards providing each student with a composition notebook, pencils, color pencils, and glue so they can create their interactive notebook. The giant Post-It boards will be used to aid students' writing by providing sample sentence stems, which they can use in class. The dry-erase boards and markers will be used for review games and other fun learning activities in class. Thank you so much for your donation!
