My students need shoes for their feet, as they often have worn out shoes/boots. I have added sneakers as many of them are active throughout the day. I hate seeing them without socks or proper shoes!
Our students come from diverse backgrounds, residing in one of the most underserved districts in our city. They are bright, charismatic, kind, and energetic children who have the drive and passion to succeed. However, they are often faced with various obstacles like homelessness, malnutrition, mental illness, loss, abuse, and many other situations our children should not go through. Every day they make it to school and our goal is to make it a wonderful experience. Our children are 11-15 years old and many have the wisdom of individuals much older. Our children are gifted, they are talented, and need the resources to excel and enhance their skills. Our children have so many extraordinary ideas and my job is to ensure they come to life!
My Project
I am working on finding funding for our students' socks and shoes. Many of the students come to school with rundown shoes, no socks, and holes in their clothing. I am hoping to be able to supply those in needs with these everyday necessities. I looked for the most affordable shoes on the site as the type does not matter. We really just want to ensure our children are safe and clothed well.
Having proper shoes and socks is something we take for granted that our children struggle with regularly.
