Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are the type of students that match my enthusiasm for creating music and achieving excellence. They understand the work ethic and collaboration it takes to be truly successful. In this day and age, families cannot always place emphasis around only band. Since it takes resources to be successful, students sometimes miss out on opportunities. I am grateful for the students I have. They are the best, and I want to provide them with the best possible opportunities in succeeding.
My Project
Beginner clarinet students usually struggle with finger dexterity due to the weight of the clarinet. With the help of a neck strap, students can focus more about their finger dexterity instead of holding/balancing the clarinet. In addition to being hindered by the weight of the clarinet, students often struggle with their embouchure development.
Clarinet students deserve a memorable experience in band without having to worry about the weight of the clarinet or struggling with tone and embouchure development.
Students are not aware of the physical requirements to play the clarinet successfully. Having a neck strap will completely alleviate that issue so they can just focus on playing music.
