My students are the some of the coolest little people on earth! My class has the highest attendance in our school and these kiddos come to school ready to learn! It seriously amazes me how they jump at every opportunity to learn. I’m a first year teacher and I honestly think everyday how lucky I am to have these kids.
My students are all Native American of varying degrees and it’s a very diverse group with many different interests.
They are proud of their heritage, yet still celebrate all different cultures. They’re truly full of heart!
My Project
Help me build my classroom library! At such a young age, it’s so important to encourage reading by providing a variety of books. Currently, my students are struggling readers, but they love the excitement of going to the the school library to look at the books. I’m convinced that by providing engaging books, they will be motivated to become fluent readers. Unfortunately, because many books have gone missing in the past and the school cannot continue to replace them, K-1 are not allowed to check out books.
With the help of the resources I’ve requested, I’m sure my students will become lifelong readers and learners.
