My students will be the very first to take agricultural education classes at Little Axe. Many of the students that will be in my class are students that I have already had in botany or zoology. They are driven, inquisitive students that push me every day to become a better teacher.
My students make every day an adventure, and I am so excited to start a new adventure with them as their agricultural education teacher.
They deserve the best possible environment in which to learn, which is why I am creating this project.
My Project
My school has never had an agricultural education program. A building was refurbished for us to use as a classroom and laboratory area, and was mostly furnished, but I am lacking a few basic necessities for my classroom.
For example, I have six computers for my students to utilize, but no chairs for them to sit at when they use them; I have desks and a bulletin board, but no dry-erase board to write assignments and other information on; I have textbooks, but no shelf to store them on.
My students also need to be able to throw away trash in proper receptacles, which is why I need a few trash cans.
Additionally, my students will be creating interactive notebooks in my class. I have done this in the past, and a huge challenge we face is the ability of the students to buy composition notebooks. Our interactive notebooks will also require the use of scissors and glue to create foldables and other visual aids. If they forget a pen or a pencil with which to take notes, label, etc. I want to ensure that I have those readily available for them as well.
