Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I would really like my students to enjoy reading and find at least one book series at their reading level that they enjoy. My classroom library is lacking books that will engage my struggling readers.
In my classroom, I have a wide range of reading abilities.
I have students that read well above grade level and I have students that are reading below grade level. It is a challenge to find books to interest all of my students and accommodate their wide range of reading levels.
My Project
My students will benefit greatly from the new books and the reading guides. Some of my students struggle with focusing while reading. Having the reading guides will help them focus and track as they read. Having books that interest the struggling readers in my class will help bring their reading levels up to grade level and beyond.
Some of the struggling readers in my class feel like they are not able to read the fun and interesting books that their classmates are able to read.
Having interesting books at their level will do a great deal to boost their confidence in reading.
