Students at my school come together from many different backgrounds and abilities to create a beautiful community that we call home. We have both self-contained Montessori classes and self-contained gifted classrooms, as well as our mainstream classrooms, so we are able to meet a large variety of learning styles and student needs.
My students are curious about how the world works, and I try to foster that curiosity with project-based curriculum, and hands-on learning experiences.
Our Makerspace is a place where we can come together and build while exploring concepts in science, the arts, engineering, and more.
This project will help to fund new art supplies to replenish our Makerspace. My students love making something out of nothing. We take recycled materials and turn them into works of art, and it is all incorporated into our STREAMS curriculum. We constantly use craft supplies to enhance our daily learning and express ourselves, and our supplies are running low.
"Free Art Day" is a big hit in my classroom, and these art supplies and drying rack will facilitate additional projects, ideas, and inspire more creativity.
As we finish out the second half of our school year, I can't wait to see what innovative projects my students will come up with.
