My Students

My class is filled with fun-loving and energetic 8-9 year olds. Our student population includes a wide cultural background. We have a good percentage of Native American, African American, Asian or Hispanic students. We have a set of iPads that have been handed down from our high school. We would like a spot to keep them safe when we aren't using them. Right now we just have them in a basket and it is hard to keep them neat and charged.

My 3rd graders love to have iPads as a resource when we do research, to practice math facts, and to practice reading.

In my classroom we only have a few iPads that we have to share. We don't want them to get broken since we don't have a secure spot for them. It is also hard to tell which ones need to be charged. The basket is always a mess. We need a storage system that will be easy for us to use.

I feel that if we have a storage system for our iPads we will be able to put them away neatly and make sure they are charged daily.

My Project

By having an iPad Storage and Charging station it will help my students become responsible for the iPads we share in our classroom. It will also help them make sure they are getting charged when needed. We don't have many iPads in our room so we want to make sure that the ones we do have last us for a long time. Right now when our basket isn't working to hold them all. Plus it is hard to charge them since we don't have a neat charging system. I hope that by having a system we can become more responsible when putting them away.
