This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is my first-ever classroom library for my future students!

Aloha, I will have my classroom next year, and as a first-year teacher, you start on a blank slate.

I really need books for my future students.

I included a simple set of social-emotional learning books, books for self-esteem, and a few fictional book sets for them to read.

So, far I have no supplies for next year, and am hoping to first look for resources among other teachers and my community. I decided to start with books because they are the foundation students need to thrive academically!

I believe in social-emotional learning for students because it is a tool they will use to regulate and understand themselves and others as they age. I also think of reading academic books to improve their literacy and grammar skills, which can always be beneficial with the help of books. Thank you for taking the time to read about my project!
